The 49ers were one of the disappointments of the 2020 NFL season, with San Francisco never really getting started and they fell well short of the mark that had been set in previous campaigns. There were just six wins from their sixteen matches, with that leaving the west coast side sitting bottom of their four-team section.
It will have rankled to have seen the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Rams go through, with San Francisco hoping to register an early victory this time around and get off to the strongest possible start, with punters able to confidently back the home side to overcome a seven-point handicap in order to secure a profit.
One of the reason for getting with San Francisco is down to the fact that they’ll clash with a Detroit Lions side who also finished bottom of their section last season. The Lions were bottom of the NFC North when losing eleven games of sixteen last term and we’re not convinced that they will be any more successful this campaign.
Recruitment hasn’t been convincing for the Lions and we’ll take the favourites to cover the line by a handsome margin and register a victory, with eight points or more needed for a profit.
