2024 Dutch Grand Prix Betting Tips
There are several drivers that can win the Dutch Grand Prix, with the bookies making Lando Norris the favourite despite the fact that the Brit has registered just one success this season. The McLaren driver landed a victory in Miami and has also posted five runner-up spots as he bids to make ground on Max Verstappen in the Drivers Championship.
Perhaps Verstappen can return to the winners enclosure, with the reigning champion having failed to land a victory in his past four races. After winning in Canada and Spain, the Red Bull driver finished fifth in the Austrian Grand Prix before finishing second at Silverstone. He was then fifth in Hungary before claiming fourth in Belgium although there are bigger-priced alternatives.
Oscar Piastri was able to land a victory recently, with the Australian securing maximum points in Hungary and the McLaren then getting second spot in Belgium. He looks like a good each-way selection and we can’t rule out the prospect of Lewis Hamilton tasting more success, with the driver having achieved a top four position in the past six races.
George Russell can’t be passed over too easily and there was a recent success in Austria for the Brit, although the Mercedes driver retired at Silverstone before an eighth-placed finish in Hungary. There was then a disqualification in Belgium although the bookies think there could be a podium finish from a driver with lots of talent.
Max Verstappen is bidding for a third consecutive Formula One Drivers’ Championship and it’s starting to look like a formality for the Red Bull driver. The 25-year-old has not been out of the first two all season and he has recently put together a winning run of eight Grand Prix, blowing the opposition out of the water.
There’s little doubt that Verstappen is in a superior car to his competitors and it could be the case that the 25-year-old is able to win the ten remaining races. The manner of some of the recent victories have been facile and he was able to win in Belgium despite having a demotion on the grid due to his gearbox being added in.
From a betting perspective, it’s probably more interesting to focus on which drivers can secure a podium finish. Sergio Perez probably looks well placed to achieve this after finishing in the top three in three of the previous four outings, with Lewis Hamilton also having improved in recent Grand Prix.
The Brit returned to podium in Spain when finishing second and then managed third-placed finishes in the British and Canadian Grand Prix. However, compatriot Lando Norris was also a man in form when achieving the runner-up spot behind Verstappen in Great Britain and Hungary, with that being offset by seventh place in Belgium.
