Verstappen has been somewhat hit and miss during the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship so far, although his victory at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix last time out suggests that brighter times are ahead for a driver who fully knows what is required to get over the line in terms of winning a drivers’ championship.
The majority of F1 betting sites trade around even money that Verstappen claims his third Grand Prix win of the season, so it’s a case of working out whether you think he has a greater than 50% chance of securing victory, with Max having previously won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
There have been a couple of early blots on the copybook for Verstappen, with the Red Bull lead driver finishing nineteenth in the Bahrain Grand Prix and there were more mechanical problems in the Australian Grand Prix when a retirement allowed his rivals to gain ground.
Can Leclerc Return to the Winners’ Podium?
Many Formula 1 punters will think that Charles Leclerc offers the best value to win the Miami Grand Prix based on early evidence. The Monaco driver opened the season with a win in Bahrain and he was then runner up to Verstappen in the Saudi race before claiming the spoils in Melbourne.
The Ferrari driver did encounter a few issues when only finishing sixth in Italy, although there are some important stats that need to be taken into account. In the first three races, Leclerc recorded the fastest lap of the respective Grand Prix, while it’s also worth noting that the driver on pole has won three of the four times the race has taken place.
Perhaps we will see a different winner in Miami and Sergio Perez could be knocking on the door, with the Mexican having finished second in the past two races and perhaps he rates as the best each-way bet out of every driver.
Carlos Sainz also has to be respected after being on the podium in the first two races, although a double retirement means that F1 betting customers might be wary of taking him on right now.
