Betting on The Voice UK
As far as betting options are concerned, it is often the case that The Voice UK betting sites will provide a market where you can wager on the Winning Act. At the beginning, there will be lots of singers priced up and the field will start to get smaller as the various acts are eliminated from the competition.
Sometimes there might be the opportunity to bet on which singer will be eliminated next and it’s always worth comparing the various odds to see who is favourite to not only win but also be leaving the competition, with the prices sometimes indicating what is likely to happen on a week to week basis.
The format of The Voice UK tends to work along the following lines. There are several blind audition shows where various singers will be given a microphone and a choice of song, with the judges then listening to each of them and deciding whether or not to make them part of the team.
After the blind auditions, we are left with roughly forty singers who were selected, with each coach having ten in their team. There is then the Callbacks phase where the singers within a specific team compete against each other, sometimes singing the same song together before the one with the strongest voice goes through.
We then get to a semi-final stage where roughly a dozen singers will remain. Each coach has a handful of singers remaining and it’s a question of which act they want to put through to compete in the grand final. Each act will get to perform their own song and there are sometimes betting odds for this.
The Voice UK was first aired in 2012 and was won by Leanne Mitchell. She was coached by Tom Jones and saw off Bo Bruce, Tyler James and Vince Kidd in the final. There was another female winner in 2013 when Andrea Begley was able to triumph in cahoots with coach Danny O’Donoghue.
The first male winner of The Voice UK was in 2014 when Jermain Jackman was given the nod and it was a first victory for long-standing coach will.i.am. It was also the only year in which Kylie Minogue appeared on the show as a coach, with the Australian having Jamie Johnson for the final.
Ricky Wilson from The Kaiser Chiefs was a judge in 2015 and 2016, with the singer able to land a victory on both occasions. First it was the turn of Stevie McCrorie who landed the spoils before Kevin Simm was victorious, with the latter beating Jolan who was also in Wilson’s corner.
2017 saw the first year that Jennifer Hudson took a chair as a judge and she was immediately successful. Mo Adeniran was able to get the most votes for his American coach, with Jamie Miller also in that camp but failing to get a victory.
In 2018, Tom Jones landed his second title as coach when Ruti Olajugbagbe was able to get over the line. The Welshman has been an ever-present coach barring one year when Paloma Faith took his place in 2016, with will.i.am the only other judge who has been there from the start.
Olly Murs was a judge between 2018 and 2023, with the singer’s two successes coming in consecutive years. In 2019, he was able to land a triumph with Molly Hocking and then came another success with Blessing Chitapa. It was the turn of Anne-Marie to succeed in 2021 when Craig Eddie gave her an only victory.
The 2022 Voice UK was won by Anthonia Edwards and the 2023 renewal saw Jen & Liv land a success, with LeAnn Rimes joining the coaching team in 2024 and the American has been a popular judge.
The Voice UK 2024 Betting
As far as The Voice UK 2024 is concerned, this has been a popular series and the semi-final took place on Saturday 19 October. LeAnn Rimes had to choose between her three remaining acts, with Deb Orah getting the nod for a stunning performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. She edged out Conor McLoughlin and Lois Morgan Gay who had renditions of “Better Man” and “A Case Of You”.
When it came to the decision-making of will.i.am, there were some difficult choices for the Black Eyed Peas singer. ESNCE were on top form with their version of “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” and MiC Lowry was also strong when delivering “The Boy Is Mine” although both of these acts were beaten. It was Storry who came good with his version of “Run”.
Sir Tom Jones has been a judge on The Voice UK for several years and the Welsh crooner was keen to put Billy & Louie through to the final after an excellent performance. The duo were on point with their version of George Michael’s “Freedom! 90” and that was enough to edge out Ace’s “I’d Rather Go Blind” and Hollie Peabody’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”.
Perhaps Tom & Danny had the toughest choice of all with their three acts considering that included AVA who could end up winning the competition. The performance of “God Only Knows” produced a standing ovation and there was everything to like about a showing which meant Kyra Smith and Olivia Rogers went home. The former sang “The Impossible Dream”, while the latter went for “Alone”.
So we have four acts competing for victory on Saturday 26 October and viewers are looking forward to seeing The Voice betting odds for the final.
