The Major League Baseball season starts in April and for fans of baseball this is one of the most exciting times of the year, filled with hope and dreams of making the World Series in October. Here we take a look at the outright winner betting in the National League, offering up our tips and predictions, as well as providing odds comparison for all your baseball bets.

Our live odds comparison compares the best baseball (and other sports) betting odds from all the best bookies in order to bring you the best prices, biggest value and tastiest profits on all your bets. This saves you time and means that when your winners come, you can be confident you haven’t missed out on a better price.

When it comes to the Major League, we provide odds comparison for a range of outrights, as well as individual matches but here our focus is on the outright winner market of the National League.

The strength in depth of the National League can be shown by a quick glance at the odds comparison for the World Series outright betting. The first, second and fourth favourites for outright success come October all hail from the National League, whilst the two joint seventh favourites are also members of the older of MLB’s two leagues. That means that five of the top eight sides, as the bookies see things, are based in the National League and, as such, it is no real surprise to see that the outright winner betting of the league itself is quite open.

The Chicago Cubs currently lead the way, priced at best betting odds of 7/1 for the World Series and 7/2 (with Coral) to win the National League. The Cubs may be one of the most famous names in baseball but they haven’t gone all the way since 1908 and haven’t even made the World Series since 1945! Things have been improving though for a little while, and the Little Bears were crowned Central Division champions in 2007 and 2008. Now, however. They look well equipped to improve on that record and they are the clear favourites in the NL outrights. We predict they will be right in the mix but there may be better value to be had a little further down the market.

Our odds comparison shows that the San Francisco Giants are next, priced at best odds of 6/1 with William Hill to win the National League. The Giants are the most successful side in the recent history of the MLB, winning the World Series in 2010, 2012 and 2014 and it doesn’t take a mathematical genius to see that if that pattern continues, it will be the Boys from the Bay that triumph in 2016.

There is little to separate the Washington Nationals from the Giants, with Coral also pricing them at 6/1, whilst a little further back come the Mets and the Dodgers, both available at odds of 15/2 with 10Bet.

Ultimately though we’re going with fate and mathematical patterns, or, more accurately, with class and experience. The Giants are our main betting tip for the NL outright winner betting and we predict that they have what it takes to not only win the National League, but also to claim their ninth World Series.
